1. Do not do it continuously

If you are at some sports where you have to sprint continuously, take into account the fact that it could strain the lower body muscles. You should ideally run the first 30 meters, giving it 80% of your ability, but bring it down to jogging level for about 10 meters. After that you can do another stretch of running for 30 meters. This can be repeated five times.

2. Bend your knees

According to the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, or JAAOS, if the knees are kept bent instead of being held straight, there is much less risk of sustaining a ligament tear. Three-fourth of knee injuries are sustained by wrong posture in landing or turning.

3. Reduce heat exposure

When exercising, the heat index, which is a combination of warm temperature and humidity, should ideally be less than 160 to avoid the risks of heatstroke. A heatstroke can be dangerous and is not easily treatable like other ailments.

4. Use correct equipment

Ill-fitting gear and wrong sized fitness equipment, might lead to injuries. Second hand exercise equipment may sometimes come cheap, but your ultimate goal of having physical fitness is likely to be at risk by using poor quality and wong sizedt fitness equipment.

5. Exercise the proper way

As bad as using worn out fitness equipment is doing exercises the wrong way. Always understand the instructions of the fitness instructor correctly and do the exercise or workout accurately.

6. Take care of direction

Many exercises or training involve movement in multiple directions. In such cases, make sure that during warming up also your move in all the directions like forward, backward, and sideways. That will help the body to be better aligned.

7. Use your camcorder

Get yourself filmed when you are at the exercise and show it to a friend for constructive criticism of your fitness program. If you cannot have your personal trainer with you every time you exercise, you can also let your personal trainer look at the film to make sure that you are using the right techniques.

8. Keep your shoulder blades loose

Stretching should be done in such a way that your rotator cuffs are always protected. A shoulder injury can put a temporary stop to all your sports fitness or physical fitness aspirations.

12. Your shoes should fit a swollen feet

Wearing a comfortable pair of training shoes in important. Buy your shoes after work, when feet may be a bit swollen, as that will be more suitable for running. Feet may swell a little by running.
